Tips for surgical prep and recovery

I’ve been working as a veterinary surgical assistant for a while, and I find that preparation really makes a difference in outcomes. Ensuring the surgical area is sterile and double-checking that we have all the right tools out can save time and stress during the procedure. I’m curious how others approach post-op care too — what do you think is most important for recovery?

I totally agree that setting up a sterile area is key! When it comes to post-op care, I find that keeping them hydrated is super important — dehydration can really slow down recovery. How do you monitor hydration levels during recovery?
